Lungotevere by summer: music, food, and cinema

Summer has finally come, and Rome is ready for a season rich in any kind of events. The Lungotevere surely is one of the main settings of the summer events in Rome. Let's discover them: they are free.

ALONG THE TIBER: MAIN EVENTS
During the summer, the Lungotevere gets the main stage of the most important events in Rome. Also this year, the manifestation named Lungo il Tevere actually proposes several interesting events to Roman citizens and visitors. This is an important year, as it is the 140th anniversary of the Il Messaggero newspaper, the most important one of the capital: 14 panels celebrating the first most important pages of an historical newspaper telling about the Italian past by their pictures. But this is not the only one event in program: music, theatre, and cinema events will take place every day along the river banks, hosting famous guests to offer great nights to everybody. This year, the event will celebrate its 16th edition: for this reason, every evening, a music show will take place, playing any kind of music, from pop to folk. Thanks to the precious copperation with the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia, also classic music concerts will take place, during the summer. Many artists will play on the several stages along the Lungotevere, such as Hu Chunxi, Alessandro Muller, and Daniele D'Andrassi. On Saturday evenings, young artists will play, such as Irene Cavalli and Luca Bussoletti. Also the theatre will be an important protagonist, thanks to the shows by Cristiana Vaccaro. There will be also art along the river and several exhibitions of pictures and street art will take place.

TASTE, PHOTO AND HANDICRAFT ALONG THE TIBER
Food surely is one of the most important protagonists of the Lungotevere summer. There are several stands offering a rich selection of street and typical food. The aim is to involve spectators in a complete Roman landscape, departing from the discovery of the river - important protagonist of the city life - to the pleasures of the traditional Roman food. Some stands will propose the typical street food, but others will let you have a sit and choose your favourite food by the menu they offer you to spend the perfect evening. There are also stands selling handicraft products, so you can get lost among them and they are trendy accessories for anybody. Art will play an important role, too: emerging but also famous artists we'll show their pictures, such as the famous Emilio Gentilini whose pictures describe Rome from 1970 to 1975. So the summer along the Lungotevere is a perfect mix of flavours, perfumes, and pictures making you happy of your time spent there. 

THE OTHER FEATURES OF THE LUNGO IL TEVERE SUMMER
This long list of events is perfect for any kind of people, but there are also other surprising features: in a city where fashing was born, runway shows couldn't miss. Some high fashion runway shows will take place showing Italian and international brands. Is sport missing? Not at all! There will be boxing fights, too. Some champions will watch the show, first of all Guido Vianello. The singer Michele Zarrillo will be symbol of a campaign against the abandonment on animals, sad phenomenon very common during the summer. You will also find a congregation of monks telling you about charity events and activities they do. Music will be the protagonist anyway; some competitions will take place some, such as the Poeta Scondizolante, and the Premio Vernagallo, famous for always making several artists famous. In addition to these events in program, there will be several surprises. Lungo Il Tevere Roma will offer great events, food and handcrafts.
